ProRail Digital Safety Passport

ProRail is responsible for the railway network in the Netherlands, and therefore also for safety where work is carried out on the railway. In order to better ensure that safety, ProRail looked for a digital replacement for the error-sensitive and fraud-sensitive paper security passport.
This paper safety passport provided access to the railway and ensured that staff are demonstrably working legally and qualified around the railway.
The DVP — Digital Safety Passport — is a program by the Rail Branche/RailAlert to improve safety awareness and thus contribute to fewer safety incidents.
Commissioned by Nsecure, we developed the DVP; a combination of a physical pass, a portal and an app. With this project, we won the Dutch Interactive Award in 2015.

Digital fence around the railway
Does anyone have the necessary proofs and certificates, and can access the construction site around the railway be granted? This is now clear at once with the Digital Safety Passport: a “digital fence” around the railway, consisting of a portal, a physical pass and a ScanApp.

One clear overview via portal
Thanks to the portal, employers and supervisors get a clear overview of reports, employees, violations and reports. In the portal, links are made with systems from various companies and institutions for certification.
Data control via the Scan App
In addition to the portal, we developed the innovative ScanApp. With this app, the QR code on the card can be scanned so that the cardholder's personal file can be viewed. Via the app, data and the right of access can be checked, attention/absence records can be kept and violations and compliments recorded. The ScanApp is available for iOS and Android.
