ALLSAFE: Robotic Storage

ALLSAFE asked us to co-develop the first fully automated Robotic Storage Solution in Europe. The Robotic Storage Concept offers customers maximum support to easily and securely arrange everything themselves. The app is the key to all services and a robot does the heavy lifting. The customer only has to drive the car to the loading dock where the robot sets up the unit. Simple and fast!
Together with ALLSAFE, Blis designed the customer journey, created the UX design and technically created the platform and app. The application takes care of everything from controlling hardware (ports, locks and, of course, the robot itself). An interesting and innovative challenge that's right for us!

The user flow
Together with ALLSAFE, we designed the ideal customer journey. Every action by the end user must be carried out as easily and smartly as possible. We have investigated all the touchpoints that the user encounters on site. In a number of co-creation sessions, we came to an accurate customer journey and concept with ALLSAFE. We optimized the customer journey and UX design with our in-house studio Doyle.

Simplicity
We are creating a MyALLSafe mobile app for ALLSAFE as a key for all services. Despite the technical complexity, everything remains simple for the user. The app has a recognisable look in the style of ALLSAFE. The clear interface with clear steps ensures that customers work with it without any problems.
Technics
The development of the app consisted of several sprints. One of the biggest challenges was connecting the app to multiple hardware and software solutions:
- Site gateway
- Doors/shutters access column (two-factor authentication)
- Automatic doors/shutters
- Alarm systems
- Storage Robot
- Locks (unit locks) via BlueTooth, etc.
To link all the functionality of the software platform, the app and all hardware, we use Microsoft Azure Service Bus for mutual communication. In addition, we made a link with Brivo for access control. This allows us to open access doors from the My ALLSAFE app with Bluetooth. This way, the user does not have to work with codes and can easily access his unit via Bluetooth with the app.
Through a link with ALLSAFE's CRM system, we know which customer belongs to which unit and can control the robot to pick up the unit in advance when registering at the site. To authenticate the user and ensure that the right unit is linked to the right customer, we use Identity Server 4. In order to also be able to monitor the application technically properly, Application Insights and Microsoft App Center are used.

Storage space of the future
ALLSAFE is an innovative company and has an extensive roadmap for the future. That's why we've set up the software in such a way that it can be expanded into the future. Together with ALLSAFE, we create the business cases for further development and determine where the opportunities lie.
For example, the app has already been made suitable for storing motor vehicles. The Engine Rooms. In addition, we are also upgrading and connecting ALLSAFE's other non-robotics branches. We install digital locks so that users no longer need physical keys and can now access them via the app.
