MedScan

Our mission — Unleash the Power of Technology to Create Positive Impact — is evident in our partnership with MedScan. Together with MedScan, we develop software solutions for logistical processes in hospitals. Pierre van Elswijk (Partner at Blis Digital) and MedScan managing partners Frank Raijmaekers and Chris Oude Luttikhuis tell us more about this great collaboration.
Inventory Management
Chris: “MedScan has been around since 2008 and our goal since then has been to unburden healthcare. We do this, among other things, in the field of inventory management. Many hospitals and healthcare organizations have difficulty with this, especially when it comes to more expensive products such as implants. As a result, products exceed their expiration date or it is not clear which patient received a particular implant with a certain serial number. That costs hospitals tens of thousands of euros per year. '
Scan pacemakers
Frank: “Our software makes it possible to create full transparency in inventory management. We link our software with an ERP and an EPD. Get a pacemaker. Before a cardiologist places it with a patient, a healthcare employee, logistics employee, purchasing employee and financial assistant are working on that pacemaker. So anything can go wrong there. With our MedScan platform, we have created a closed loop that ensures that as few people as possible are busy with orders and inventory management. For example, an order can be placed automatically when the inventory falls below a certain value. '
Better quality of care
Chris: “As a result, there is less error in the chain, which improves the continuity of care. The efficiency and quality of care are also improving. This ensures lower healthcare costs and more effective use of staff, which is scarce. Because Frank and I, among others, have a background in healthcare and are regularly in the workplace, we know what is going on and what is needed. In collaboration with Blis Digital, we then translate it into software solutions. '
