The market requires a different organization
The market is changing. AI has a greater impact on how software and digital solutions are created than expected two years ago. Vibecoding is gaining ground. The developer's role is changing: from producing code to directing intelligent systems. And customers are becoming more critical. AI must provide demonstrable value, not just show potential.
Bliss moves along. Since 2025, we have been working AI-first. Where every discipline wonders how AI makes work smarter, faster and better. The course for 2026 and beyond: less pure construction, more strategic advice. Engineering remains, but is increasingly being combined with consultancy - about architecture, AI strategy and how technology really delivers value in an organization.
“This movement requires someone who monitors the organization's movement full-time,” says Richard. “Change has become a constant process. Processes must be right, team leads must be supported and what we come up with strategically must really land in daily practice”.
View from outside to inside
All the time that Martijn was sitting at the table with customers at Blis, he also saw what is going on in the workplace from a customer perspective. That view — from the outside in — is exactly what this role requires.
As COO, Martijn is responsible for the entire delivery organization. He manages team leads, monitors strategy implementation and organizational development. And is part of the management.
He's clear about the culture he wants to maintain: “Efficiency should never come at the expense of humanity within teams. Blis has had a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation for 20 years. I want to pass that on.”
What changes for customers?
Martijn is gradually phasing out his sales activities. Ton van Tilburg takes over part of the customer relationships. Martijn will remain involved with a number of customers until his successor arrives. That search has now started. In addition, in his new role, Martijn will remain present in the steering groups of a number of customers, to keep in touch with the work.
Welcome to your new role, Martijn!
