Tio Business School, the leading private educational institution in the Netherlands, has taken an important step in digitizing education. In collaboration with Blis Digital, the innovative Cogniti AI platform was rolled out, which allows teachers to independently develop and deploy educational support AI agents.

AI as an opportunity for personalized education

Technology is becoming increasingly central to education, and the arrival of generative AI opens new doors that Tio would like to use. “We see in GenAI the opportunity to make teaching material much more personal, streamline administrative processes and directly support both students and teachers via intelligent AI agents,” explains Frans van Kreuningen (Director, Tio Business School) out.

The school wants to use AI widely and will actively develop applications that take the learning experience to a higher level. An important part of that vision is the implementation of Cogniti — a step that fits Tio's ambition to lead the way in educational innovation.

First teachers successfully trained

The implementation started with training the first 20 teachers, who are now able to design and deploy personalized AI assistants for their students. In the coming months, another 30 teachers will be trained, with the aim of starting the new academic year in September Cogniti Having implemented TiO-wide.

Cogniti and Blis Digital: the perfect match

Cogniti is an AI platform developed specifically for education by the University of Sydney. The system enables teachers to build their own AI agents without technical knowledge and stands out for its user-friendliness and education-specific functionalities.

Tio signed a licensing agreement with the University of Sydney, after which Blis Digital was engaged for the full implementation. The package includes technical installation, integration into Tio's IT environment, training and ongoing support. “Our approach goes beyond just the technical side. We ensure that the platform is actually embraced and used effectively by the entire organization,” says Albert Jan Schot (CTO, Blis Digital).

Future-oriented vision

Tio Business School, known for its courses in hotel and event management, tourism, business and marketing, is continuously working on an innovative learning environment. The school offers higher professional education, MBO and Master courses and sees generative AI as an opportunity to make teaching materials even more personal and to take the learning experience to a higher level.

The current pilot phase forms the basis for a wider rollout, with Tio striving for a leading position in AI-driven education within the Dutch education sector.
