FastTrack Recognized Solution Architect is the title that Microsoft reserves for people who are more than just good with technology. It's about smartly using the entire Power Platform to create customer-focused solutions that really work. So it's a title that shows that you have in-depth knowledge of Power Platform, but also the ability to apply that knowledge in the real, complex world.
“The idea is that you can show that, as a consultant, you are coming up with the right things and working out the right solutions for your customer,” Richard explains. “So it's not just building Power Apps. It's about looking at the bigger picture.”
Albert-Jan adds: “A Power Apps solution doesn't just consist of Power Apps. As a Solution Architect, you think beyond the standard solutions and see how different technologies and platforms can reinforce each other to deliver the best results.”
FastTrack Recognized Solution Architect Power Platform: How to become one
How to become a FastTrack Solution Architect It may sound mysterious, but according to Albert-Jan, there are no secret rituals involved:
“No, that's all public. But you can't apply for it. A Microsoft employee or other FastTrack Solution Architect must nominate you. If that nomination is approved, you must fill out a form with questions and submit at least two customer cases. Quite extensive, including the technical details and documentation. Step 2 is to ask the customers of those cases for recommendations. If that goes well, you will have an interview with the Power Platform Product Group. They will ultimately decide whether you will be appointed. And because the Product Group does not award many of these appointments, we are extra proud!”
Richard: “It's also really about projects you've done over the past two years. You are not allowed to include projects older than that. Despite having previously been named FastTrack Solution Architect, I had to 'defend' my title this year by demonstrating that my knowledge was up to date and by submitting a case from the past year. So it's not a title for life, but one that you have to earn over and over again every year.”
This is what Microsoft said about this extraordinary achievement
Daniel Laskewitz, Senior Cloud Advocate Power Platform at Microsoft, about Appie and Richard's appointments:
Blis Digital is a company that excels in providing innovative and high-quality solutions with the Power Platform. They prove that with two experts who have won the FastTrack Recognized Solution Architect title for Power Apps.
Daniel continues: “This is a rare achievement for a company of this size. We really appreciate the partnership we have with Blis Digital. The useful feedback we receive and the fact that Blis Digital likes to share knowledge with the global Power Platform community is incredibly valuable to us.”
What it means to you
The presence of two FastTrack Solution Architects within Blis Digital has significant benefits for our customers. Our experts bring proven expertise to the Microsoft Power Platform that goes beyond basic applications, allowing us to provide more complex and personalized solutions.
Richard: “It shows that Microsoft sees us as people who perform this role well. But I don't see it as an extra, because we've already done well for our customers. It's more of a form of appreciation and recognition.”
But there are also practical benefits, Appie adds: “It does provide an additional entry into Microsoft. Dan can help solve problems or complex implementations. We're also on a monthly call with all people with this title, so you have access to a global network with Microsoft, the product group, and other FastTrack Architects. So if there is a problem with a customer, we can tap into that knowledge.”
