In an earlier blog, we already described a real-life scenario where low-code and full code came together: Hey SaaS provider, an API alone isn't enough! But when do you choose low-code and when do you choose full code?
European Power Platform Conference
From April 6 to 8, the European Power Platform Conference takes place in Berlin, Germany. In three days, various experts will take you through the building blocks of the Power Platform. Of course, Blis is also present! Not only that, Albert-Jan is even going to present a session there with the (working) title: An API is not a Connector yet. After all, what if your SaaS supplier only offers an API to integrate? So how do you make sure you can do something with that? Getting started with http triggers? Can you expect Custom Connectors? And how do you ensure that you can work safely with that data? Just a few questions you'll face when you get started with the Power Platform.
Based on our experiences, I'll take you through the various steps to securely unlock data from an API in a low-code application such as a Power BI dashboard or a Power App. I'll tell you all the ins and outs of how to store the information in the right place, what the right Power Platform building blocks are and how to use Azure. Everything you need to build a good low-code connector, on top of your API. Because, as we wrote earlier: an API alone is not enough!
But with just unlocking data via a connector, you're not there yet. Because when do you choose Power Automate and when do you choose Azure Logic Apps? And where do you store the copy of the data? Many of these choices are often only made when building a solution; these are not always conscious and thoughtful choices! That's why we take a step back and see together what choices there are and how you can best make them.
Will I see you in Berlin?
If you're as excited as we are, maybe we'll see you at the European Power Platform Conference? I would love to continue chatting with you over a beer. Can't wait until April and are you curious if the Microsoft Power Platform can also bring acceleration and flexibility to your organization? Let us know. Then, together, we will look for the innovation opportunities that Power Platform has to offer you.
