As a product owner or product manager, you are often confronted with the fact that you are not the owner of the product. With an SPSO certificate and knowledge of how to submit a feature, success in practice remains a challenge. The theories are piling up, but the application appears to be complex. Experience isn't the only solution. Recognizable? Want to hone your product thinking and skills? Sign up for this masterclass. We organize this masterclass in collaboration with EMERCE Academy.

Who is this training for?

We focus on product owners and product managers who are still learning in their field. You may have been active in the role for a few years and have already taken a course. This training is not about SCRUM, Agile or software development methodologies. We are looking for product owners and product managers who want to get hands-on with improving their skills in the field.

What do you learn?

In this training, we work together on the product. You get an overview of the product field, with a brief explanation of relevant theories and frameworks. We cover a colorful collection of theories, frameworks and templates from practice:

  • Product activities framework and RACIs
  • Different ways of looking at your product lifecycle, such as maturity, innovation, software development and adoption/innovation
  • Stakeholder management
  • Product Discovery and Delivery methods such as user story mapping, PRDs and experiment design
  • Proposition and strategy development, such as business model canvas, product messaging, market analysis, blue ocean canvas and pitch decks

The focus is on action. We will immediately get to work on improving your product. Don't expect theories that remain on the shelf, but concrete steps and hands-on sessions. We're thinking about how to make your product better.

Program

1. Product Discovery

Understand what your product should be. Build skills to set priorities, convince stakeholders, and clarify your product message. Together, determine what you already know and what is still missing, and make a plan to supplement this.

2. Product Strategy

Use the input from day 1 to determine where you can win with your product. Expect critical questions. Refine the product direction and help each other communicate the strategy effectively.

3. Product Delivery

Put the strategy into practice. Evaluate your current role and team, stay on track, and deal with complex stakeholders. Exercises to improve both product delivery and marketing.

Results

After this training, you'll have an improved product plan, sharper messaging and countless ideas for really 'owning' and controlling your product.

During the training, you will learn:

  • Know current theories and definitions in the product landscape.
  • Get insights through active exploration and experimentation.
  • Sharpen your product leadership
  • Convince stakeholders to embrace the product plan.
  • Tools and strategies for better product team performance.
